What is NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

 

Coaching, based in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, TimeLine® Therapy and Hypnotherapy, provides simple yet powerful methods for letting go of the past, releasing negative emotions and discovering healthy, positive resources within you.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) looks at the relationship between our brain and how we organize our mental life (neuro), the language we use (linguistics) and our patterns of behavior (programming). With NLP we look at how we communicate with ourselves and others, and how our thought processes affect our mental state and therefore our emotional well-being which results in our behaviors.

 

 

Basically, NLP looks at our language, how we filter information from our senses, our programming (sequences of repetitive behaviour) and how we act with purpose … to become conscious of how we do what we do … so we can make adjustments to make what we do … create the results we want. To consciously create the lives we want! To live fully present in the now.

What is Time Line Therapy™?

 

Time Line Therapy ™ training is provided in the Master’s NLP program. It is a process that allows you to gain emotional control over your life. Inappropriate emotional reactions, such as bursts of anger, periods of apathy, depression, sadness, anxiety, and chronic fear, are often responsible for preventing people from achieving the quality of life they desire.

 

Limiting decisions, such as "I'm not good enough," "I'll never be rich," or "I don't deserve a great marriage" create false limitations and hamper your ability to create reachable and attainable goals and outcomes.

 

Tad James, the creator of this powerful process, discovered that the way in which we structure time on an unconscious level can impact greatly on how we feel and behave. Time Line Therapy™ allows you to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change "inappropriate" programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.

 

Your "Time Line" is how you unconsciously store your memories or how you unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future

 

Our memories are stored and connected like a string of pearls around a certain subject or emotion. With Time-Line Therapy™ you are taken to the root cause of the problem -- where the unconscious mind can preserve the learning associated with the event, and let go of the negative emotions and decisions easily and effortlessly.

 

Peter Brown, M.D. (1991) says that "Memory is the matrix of personal identity." Time Line Therapy now gives a reliable way to affect our memories in a way that can change our future.

 

 

What about hypnotherapy?

 

Since NLP is the study of human behavior from the perspective of how we program ourselves, it follows that how our conscious mind communicates with our unconscious mind would be an important component of the science of NLP. Through hypnotherapy the conscious mind is enabled to come into alignment with the unconscious mind. Have you ever said you were not going to do this or that and then turned around and did it? That is the unconscious mind in conflict with the conscious mind. When conflict arises, the unconscious always wins.

 

We all go into natural hypnosis many times every day - we call it daydreaming. Any activity like driving the car or washing dishes, when our mind wanders off to a different time and place, is natural hypnosis. For hypnotherapy we just add relaxation and a pre-determined intention.

 

The unconscious always has a positive intention but does not always choose the best way of achieving it. If we can show it a better way then it can change quickly. And this is where hypnosis is useful because when we are deeply relaxed it is easier to communicate with the unconscious and to help it to look after us in a more appropriate and resourceful way.
